Grade 310H (UNS 531009), with a higher carbon content, is suited for high-temperature applications, while Grade 310S (UNS S31008), with lower carbon, is preferred for environments with moist corrodents at lower temperatures, though it has reduced high-temperature strength compared to 310H.
